Puppy Boot Camp

Our full time boot camp is for dogs who need a full reset in order to unlearn significant negative behaviors or get a solid foundation of skills to make life with their owner as stress free as possible. These skills often require multiple daily sessions to set the foundation in the dog's brain for the handler to work with. This camp is specifically designed to get you and your puppy off to the strongest start possible. Puppies must be vaccinated due to the large number of exposures they will have while staying at the boot camp and participating in training sessions around the property. We are not liable for a nonvaccinated animal contracting a preventable condition regardless of the health impacts of the condition. Puppies are eligible between three months (12 weeks) to two years. Weekends at Home (by request): This is an option for local owners. Handlers will have a bit of "homework" to do over the weekend based on what the puppy has learned during the week. It is critical that you as the owner maintain routines and habits so your puppy can know what is expected of it and feel safe knowing what will be happening in the near future. Curriculum includes: • Potty training • Crate training — very important to prepare your dog for possible vet or boarding stays due to life events • Basic commands — sit, down, stay (limited based on age of puppy), simple recall, and bed • Leash manners • Drive evaluation • Beginner socialization • Livestock exposure for possible livestock guardians • Car ride manners / public socialization Keep in mind that part of a boot camp is unlearning the bad habits before the good ones can be formed.
